Chios Yellow was introduced by Aaron Delmanto of NJ Fig Farm. As the name suggests, this variety is from the island of Chios. I assume Aaron found this variety growing in New Jersey and that it was brought to the US by immigrants. That's good news for this variety's potential hardiness.

My evaluation has led me to believe that this is a high-quality fig variety. It has very high sweetness and a very solid eating experience. The figs are large and generally remind me of Longue d'Aout, but with fewer issues in humid areas.

I'm excited to see how this variety will change when I plant it in the ground in 2027.
