Salavatski is a very hardy pomegranate variety. It's been tested many times here in the Philadelphia area to 2-5F and is consistently able to produce fruit. Again, after the winter of 2025-26, it has been exposed to 2F with no dieback.

Friends in zone 6B have also had long-term success.

Interestingly, the berry flavor is more intense than the store-bought variety, Wonderful. By quite a significant margin. I personally wouldn't classify the seeds as "hard," but this variety can struggle with anthracnose, a common issue for pomegranate growers in humid areas.

For sale are trees now in their 2nd growing season. They're propagated and cared for in almost the same ways as fig trees.
