Pink Lemonade is a popular and favorite variety among growers for its striking pink color and different flavor, setting it apart from other varieties. Ripens mid to late season.

I recommend planting numerous blueberry varieties. Not only for cross-pollination to increase yield, but also for extending the harvest window of fresh blueberries all summer.

Regarding soil, blueberries are notoriously "acid-loving" and generally require a pH between 4.5 and 6.0 to thrive. If your native soil is 6.0 pH or higher, the plants can suffer from iron chlorosis and stunted growth because they cannot properly absorb nutrients at that level. To solve this, planting in 100% peat moss, which is naturally acidic, is an excellent strategy for container or raised bed growing. If planting directly in the ground, I would amend the area with peat moss and add a soil acidifier (such as elemental sulfur) every year to counteract the natural rise in pH and keep the soil acidic enough for the plants to thrive. I did this many years ago for my blueberries, but I realized my soil pH is naturally around 6, allowing me to plant blueberries directly into our native clay soil with no issues.

Blueberries are also notorious for their soil moisture needs. Although planting in full sun is best, do not let the soil dry out. Dieback will occur.
