Moro de Caneva - As good as it gets in terms of split resistance

Writer: Ross the Fig BOSSRoss the Fig BOSS

For those that will miss my posts on OurFigs, I've decided to continue my postings as the season progresses here on the blog.

This is Moro de Caneva. It's as good as it gets here in terms of performance in the rain. Almost never splits because of the elongated shape and the way it hangs. It sheds water better than any other I have I think. This prevents the fruit from absorbing water and expanding too quickly. Some figs have their eyes pointed towards the sky as they swell where absorption of water is easy at the location of the eye and because that location is so sensitive to splitting, those figs will split super easily when it rains.
