Smith is approaching the level of a Coll de Dama

For those that will miss my posts on OurFigs, I've decided to continue my postings as the season progresses here on the blog.

Smith is insanely good this year and I've enjoyed every single one. Sticky and jammy figs every time. In prior years they've always been sticky, but also juicy and syrupy. There's very little syrup this year and some have even been cakey like the Coll de Damas. For awhile there the weather was perfect. We had nights in the 70s. That was enough to make them cakey I think and at this "fig cake" state they are probably the second tastiest variety I've ever eaten off my own trees.

Smith is seriously one of the best. You'd really be crazy not to grow it.
